San Juan Symphony: Rock 'n Roll in Vienna

We welcome back Israeli cellist Inbal Segev with a knock-your-socks-off popular concerto by Viennese crossover pianist and composer Friedrich Gulda. In a city known for its conservative taste, Gulda was surely enboldened by his illustrious and irreverent predecessor, Beethoven. With its majestic opening, elegiac second movement and rowdy finale, Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony must have loosened their lederhosen in 1813 Vienna.
