Contemporary Western Landscape Exhibit
Landscapes have always played an integral part of art and literature, and until now they have always been represented in more of a traditional role. However, the latest exhibition at the Albuquerque Museum will be sure to entice visitors and evoke thoughts and visions of landscapes in ways that may have never been considered. The Albuquerque Museum of Art & History is delighted to announce its latest exhibition: Changing Perceptions of the Western Landscape, which will open to the public on Saturday, May 18, 2013. Changing Perceptions is not your typical landscape exhibition. This exhibition explores the revived interest in landscape by contemporary artists, who draw inspiration from the land to create diverse interpretations of our environment. Many contemporary landscape artists explore the way that humanity has laid its hand on the land, while others seek inspiration outdoors, en plein air, and follow that with studio work during which their objects are created.
